Generation IV International Forum's Leadership
The GIF is led by the Policy Group (PG), the highest-level Committee of the GIF responsible for governing its overall framework and policies, for the overall steering of GIF co-operative efforts and for interactions with third parties. As of 2024, the GIF Policy Group is led by the GIF Chair, with support from 4 Vice Chairs, a Policy Director and a Technical Director.

Alice Caponiti
Alice Caponiti was elected Chair of the GIF Policy Group for the period 2022-2024, succeeding Hideki Kamide in this role.
She is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Reactor Fleet and Advanced Reactor Deployment in the Office of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. Alice has served in various roles in the GIF Policy Group and Experts Group since 2012.

Hideki Kamide
Hideki Kamide serves as the new Vice Chair of the GIF Policy Group, supporting the Chair in the area of Networking and Education.
He is the Deputy Director General of the Sector for Fast Reactor and Advanced Reactor Research and Development at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency.

Jin-Young CHO
Jin-Young CHO serves as Vice Chair of the GIF Policy Group, supporting the Chair especially in the area of Research Collaborations. He is the Senior Vice President responsible for the development of advanced nuclear reactor technologies at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI).

Stéphane SARRADE
Stéphane Sarrade serves as Vice Chair of the GIF Policy Group, supporting the Chair in the area of market issues and Industry Engagement. He was already involved in the GIF since 2016 and was chair of VHTR Hydrogen Production PMB since 2021. Dr. Stephane Sarrade is currently Director of the Energy Programs Direction, a strategic direction of the Energy Division (DES) within CEA, dedicated to low carbon energy R & D programs (Nuclear and Renewable Energies). Since 2011, he has been research director of CEA in Chemical Engineering and Green Chemistry. In parallel, he also was chairman of the French Membranes Club for 9 years and, since 2006, is President of Supercritical Fluids Innovation (IFS), a non-profit organization devoted to green processes. He is co-founder of a startup created in 2014, Inovalor, applied to new processes for hazardous waste management.

Daniel BRADY
Daniel Brady was nominated Vice Chair of the GIF Policy Group for Regulatory Issues and as such supports the Chair in this area. He is currently the Deputy Director for Nuclear Science & Technology at the Department of Natural Resources Canada. Daniel has been an active member of Canada’s GIF Team since 2006, participating on various committees over the years, most recently as Canada’s representative on the Policy Group.

Fiona RAYMENT
Fiona Rayment was nominated GIF Policy Director for the period 2022-2024, succeeding Nobuchika Kawasaki. Dr Rayment, OBE, has dedicated 30 years to the nuclear sector with extensive strategic and operational experience. A chartered chemist and engineer with a PhD in chemistry from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Fiona is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the UK Nuclear Institute. Fiona provides nuclear advice to organisations internationally and is a vice chair of the Nuclear Energy Agency’s Steering Committee Bureau.

Bob HILL
Bob Hill was nominated GIF Technical Director for the period 2022-2024, succeeding Gilles Rodriguez. Bob has worked at Argonne National Laboratory for over 30 years with research focus on reactor physics, fuel cycle applications, and fast reactor technology. Dr. Hill has served as National Technical Director for United States advanced reactor R&D Programs for last 15 years with diverse work scope. In the GIF collaborations, he has been Member and Chair of the SFR System Steering Committee and SFR System Integration and Assessment technical Project. His R&D contributions have been recognized by ANS Cisler award for fast reactor leadership and Argonne Distinguished Fellow.

Diane CAMERON
Diane Cameron is Head of the Generation IV International Forum (GIF) Technical Secretariat and Head of the Nuclear Technology Development and Economics Division (NTE) at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). She oversees the GIF Technical Secretariat, providing support to GIF leadership and member countries. In her role at NEA, she leads an expert team of economists and scientists that supports energy policy and nuclear energy policy development among NEA Member Countries by advancing evidence-based, authoritative assessments and analyses in the areas of nuclear economics, financing, and cost reduction, as well as nuclear technology, innovation, and the fuel cycle. Prior to joining NEA, she was Director of Nuclear Energy for the Government of Canada where her responsibilities included overseeing Canada’s participation in GIF and serving as Chair of Canada’s SMR Roadmap and architect of Canada’s SMR Action Plan.

Gina ABDELSALAM
Gina Abdelsalam is the GIF Technical Secretariat Chief of Staff since September 2022, she supports the GIF TS Head Diane Cameron as well as the GIF leadership in this role and steers the activities of the whole GIF TS Team.
