NEANH Virtual Workshop Proceedings

The NEANH Virtual Workshop, held on July 12-13, 2022, brought together international experts to discuss the integration of Generation IV nuclear technologies for non-electric applications, such as cogeneration and hydrogen production. The event featured 18 speakers across 14 sessions and two panel discussions, with participants from various national laboratories, international organizations, and private sectors. The workshop aimed to enhance technical knowledge among NEANH Task Force members, explore novel deployment opportunities for advanced nuclear systems, and facilitate engagement between the research community and industry stakeholders. Key takeaways included the potential for nuclear energy to support decarbonization goals, the necessity of integrating nuclear with renewable energy sources, and the importance of early consideration of heat applications in nuclear system designs.
